Our air fleet is a combination of the most environmental aircraft, with electric aeroplanes from Pipistrel and new Piper Archer DX. Our Alsim ALX simulator is an excellent complement to our fleet.
Our air fleet is a combination of the most environmental aircraft, with electric aeroplanes from Pipistrel and new Piper Archer DXT with Biofuel.
Green Flight Academy uses the first certified electric aeroplane, Pipistrel Velis Electro, for basic flight training. This new all-electric aeroplane is a game-changer for carbon-neutral flight training.
The aeroplane is a high wing, two-seat design with two battery packs that gives a range of 50 minutes plus reserve. With a fast-charging station installed at Skellefteå Airport a charging cycle takes 45 minutes, giving time for de-briefing and briefing of the following air exercise.
Velis Electro is not only emission-free, but also very quiet compared to a traditional training aircraft. With new electric commuter airliners coming to the market in the near future it is a great advantage to have flown electric airplanes during your basic flight training.
Our brand-new Piper Archer DX combines the well-proven design of Piper’s range of training aircraft with the latest diesel engine technology and state-of-the-art avionics.
The Continental CD-155 diesel engine runs on jet fuel or diesel and consumes 35% less than the gasoline-equivalent. Soon we will be able to use Biodiesel which reduces the carbon footprint to almost zero.
The airplanes are equipped with Garmin G1000 glass cockpit where flight-, engine- and navigation instruments are digitally presented on two 10.4” displays.
The four-seat Piper Archer DX is used for basic flight training, cross-country navigation flights and instrument training.
Our Alsim ALX simulator will primarily be used for instrument training and Multi Crew Cooperation course. The simulator has 200 degree vision system that realistically represents terrain and airports day and night. It can be configured as a single-engine, multi-engine or jet airplane.
Using a simulator greatly increases training quality for both standard and emergency procedures. With the Alsim ALX we can accurately simulate any weather condition and a full range of emergency scenarios that you cannot practise to the same extent in an aircraft.
