Braathens regional airline

GFA have a strong cooperation with Braathens Regional Airline where our students have job opportunities after completing their training with us.

Braathens is an ACMI operator, providing high-quality flight services on long-term agreements with airlines such as SAS and Austrian Airlines.

With a modern and efficient fleet, Braathens specializes in operating charter flights for major tour operators across the Nordic region. By 2025, the airline’s fleet will include 17 ATR 72-600s and seven Airbus A320/A319s, supported by approximately 750 dedicated employees.

Committed to sustainability, Braathens has taken significant steps toward greener aviation. In 2019, the airline conducted The Perfect Flight, reducing fossil emissions by 46% using 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). In 2022, Perfect Flight 2.0 became the world’s first commercial flight powered entirely by 100% SAF. Additionally, Braathens offsets all carbon dioxide emissions for passengers at no extra charge and has set an ambitious goal to achieve net-zero emissions for its ATR fleet by 2030.

Braathens ensures reliable and seamless flight operations, upholding high standards of service, efficiency, and environmental responsibility.

Scandinavian Airlines

GFA and SAS have a partnership whereby students have the opportunity to undergo an assessment with the airline towards the end of their studies.

SAS has a fleet of modern and efficient airliners, ranging from the Embraer E195LR to the Airbus 319, 320neo, 330 and their widebody flagship, the A350. SAS can offer a long-term career path as a pilot within their company.

We are pleased to be working with a company which is taking notable steps towards the development of sustainable aviation.
SAS has a comprehensive sustainability programme in which the goal is to reduce total CO₂ emissions by 25 percent before 2025, and that all domestic flights operated by SAS will be fossil-free by 2030. Their modern fleet consisting of brand-new aircraft consumes 15-30 percent less fuel than previous models, reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
